 Marguerite Flees
After deciding to
leave Armand to preserve his family honor, in the middle
of the night, before Armand returns from Paris,
Marguerite leaves her new life to return to the old. She
does not tell him the true reason for her leaving, so he
is left to believe that she simply became tired of him
and returned to her hedonistic lifestyle.
